As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the property and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the Owner’s asset.
Your day to day
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate records of inventory and purchase orders log.

Inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.
- Actively execute hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs. Speak with others using clear and professional language and prepare and review written documents accurately and completely. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, and identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
- Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment.
- Understand and respond to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Carry out preventive maintenance programme to ensure facility is maintained and in service for our guests.

Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves. Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
- Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.
What we need from you
- Some college or advanced vocational training /diploma/degree in engineering
- 2/3 years of experience in property maintenance and/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, engines and gen sets.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Professional certification and license if required by law
