Theoria is seeking a talented and visionary UI/UX Lead to join our Software Engineering team. As a UI/UX Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design and user experience strategy for our products. This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences.
Shift Structure:
- Monday-Friday 10am-6pm EST

Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of UI/UX designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Design Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and goals.
- User Research: Conduct and oversee user research activities, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
- Design Execution: Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketing, to ensure cohesive and user-centric product development.
- Design Systems: Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across all products and platforms.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to validate design solutions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts and user research findings to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and value.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the user experience.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Design Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools like InVision or Marvel.
- Research Skills: Strong experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring design teams, with strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- User-Centered Design: Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI/UX design projects and demonstrating a user-centric approach.
