Purpose
Vendor managers facilitate and maintain relationships between the organization and vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors. Vendor managers also cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
- Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
- Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
- Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.
- Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
- Conducting onboarding with vendors and informing vendors their responsibilities and obligations.
- Conducting offboarding and knowledge transfer with vendors
- Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
- Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
- Can conduct technology analysis, rationalization and positioning
- Collaborates with vendors for go to market strategy
- Ensures vendors comply with their SLAs and OLAs
- Manage rules of engagements
- Manage vendor interactions and promotional activities
- Conducts vendor risk assessment and management
- Conducts sales and technical enablement sessions
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum Experience/Training
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
- With vendor management experience in the technology industry
- Certification in ITIL V4 and PMP is an advantage
- Proven experience working as a vendor manager
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Has great relationship management skills
- Must be organized

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
