Purpose




Vendor managers facilitate and maintain relationships between the organization and vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors. Vendor managers also cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors.




Duties and Responsibilities





  • Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.

  • Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.

  • Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.

  • Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.

  • Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.

  • Conducting onboarding with vendors and informing vendors their responsibilities and obligations.

  • Conducting offboarding and knowledge transfer with vendors

  • Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.

  • Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.

  • Can conduct technology analysis, rationalization and positioning

  • Collaborates with vendors for go to market strategy

  • Ensures vendors comply with their SLAs and OLAs

  • Manage rules of engagements

  • Manage vendor interactions and promotional activities

  • Conducts vendor risk assessment and management

  • Conducts sales and technical enablement sessions




Qualifications




Minimum Education



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field.


Minimum Experience/Training



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field.

  • With vendor management experience in the technology industry

  • Certification in ITIL V4 and PMP is an advantage

  • Proven experience working as a vendor manager

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications

  • Has great relationship management skills

  • Must be organized

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to travel for work

  • Ability to multitask effectively

  • Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
