The Creative Director (CD) is the custodian of the brand. From conceptualization and strategy to design and execution, the CD oversees all digital and physical representations.
Initially, the CD will work closely with the owners and the Leadership Team to establish brand guidelines and assets for B2C, B2B, and marketplace channels. The goal is to create a uniform consumer experience while implementing tailored marketing strategies for each channel.
With a solid foundation in place, the CD will collaborate with the team to ideate and prioritize design projects based on the company’s needs and marketing strategy. The CD will be crucial not only in executing these projects but also in generating ideas to drive sales and elevate the brand continuously.
To be successful, the CD must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, excel at creative problem-solving, and work collaboratively with other teams across the company. Additionally, the CD will be responsible for building and managing a Creative Team as the design workload grows.
Key Duties:
● Own the creative ideation and execution for all sales and marketing channels including the website, retail, Amazon, social media, email/sms marketing, packaging, product design, etc.
● Participate in the weekly Leadership Team meetings providing key insights into the company’s
creative needs and helping build the priority list of future design projects.
● Lead the design direction and development of all creative brand elements while partnering with leadership to continuously evolve and advance visual identity.
● Assist in hiring, developing, and managing additional designers when the workload exceeds the capacity of one person.
● Develop and manage a team of designers within the Digital Creative Department to guide the direction of creative projects and make key decisions throughout the process.
● Protect each brand’s visual standards and effectively communicate them across all creative assets.
● Conceptualize, design, and implement assets for paid media campaigns.
Required Skills and Abilities:
● Manage time and projects effectively, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
● Expertise in digital graphic design with a focus on UX, UI, and conversion rate optimization.
● Knowledge of copywriting, including product naming and ad headline/copywriting
● Strong understanding of typography, color, usability, and other design principles.
● Comfortable managing and nurturing creatives in-house and externally when required
● Proven track record in creating and executing compelling brand campaigns across all channels
● Strong knowledge of design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout
● Expert mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
● Be on top of current and future trends with a focus on brand-building and storytelling
● Maintain brand consistency while also meeting usability and accessibility standards
● Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet business needs
● Have excellent communication and collaboration skills with both leadership and team members
● Able to accept criticism and feedback for work
● Stay at the cutting edge of AI design tools to improve efficiency, quality of work, and output

Education and/or Experience:
-8+ years experience as a graphic designer. 4+ years leading a creative department.
