JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Associate is responsible in performing accounting, taxation, treasury, and bookkeeping functions such as invoice processing, filing of tax returns, bank reconciliation, issuance of billing to clients, assist and prepare reports for regular month-end closing of books of accounts, journalizing, and assisting in BIR, SEC, LGUs and other government agencies reportorial compliance.
KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
BANK RECONCILIATION
- Ensure that all bank debits and credits are reflected in the accounting books and systems
- Monitor and verifying all banking activities in order to detect irregularities
- Perform books and bank reconciliation of accounts regarding cash on hand and cash in bank
- Prepare necessary month-end entries to make the book balances are equal to bank balances
FINANCIAL REPORTING
- Ensure that other cash transactions & other non-recurring transactions such as payroll, BIR & other government remittances, & bank charges are properly recorded in the accounting books and accounting system
- Analyze financial data and provide financial recommendations
- Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards
- Generate financial reports and analyze financial data to provide financial recommendations
- Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support
BIR COMPLIANCE
- Process, submit & remit all required BIR returns which includes but not limited to:
- Annual Registration (0605 Annually)
- Withholding Tax Compensation (1601C Monthly), (1604CF Annually with alpha list of employees),
- Withholding Tax Expanded (0619E Monthly), (1601E Quarterly with quarterly alpha list of payees), (1604E Annually)
- Value Added Tax (2550Q Quarterly with summary list of sales, purchases & importations),
- Income Tax Returns (1702Q Quarterly with summary alpha list of withholding tax at source) and 1702 Annually)
- Information return on Related Party Transaction (1709 Annually), and other information such as Audited Financial Statements and Inventory List
- Manage all the documentation pertaining to taxation
SEC COMPLIANCE
- Ensure submission company general documents such as AFS & GIS
LGU COMPLIANCE
- Liaise with the business permit licensing office of LGUs where company is registered.
- Ensure timely submission of all business permit requirements annually
OTHERS
- Keep self and department updated on new law, pronouncements, and standards by any government regulating body that the company adheres to
- Performance of other administrative duties as may be required by the supervisor
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Good in oral and communication skills
- With 1-2 years experience in Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Understanding and familiarity with finance regulations, accounting standards, and government compliance
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with MS Office (e.g. MS Excel)
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
EDUCATION, TRAININGS, LICENSES REQUIRED:
- A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
