Job Overview
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Sales supports the Vice President of Sales in leading the sales team and driving the company's sales strategies. The AVP of Sales is responsible for implementing sales plans, managing key accounts, and ensuring the team meets its sales targets. This role involves significant leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies and plans to achieve company
objectives.
- Identify market opportunities and work with the VP of Sales to develop initiatives to capitalize on
them.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and goal setting.
Sales Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the sales team, ensuring high performance and achievement of
targets.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the sales staff.
- Set individual and team sales goals and monitor progress towards these goals.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Address escalated customer issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the management of customer accounts and ensure alignment with company standards.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, operations, and product development,
to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between the sales team and other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present sales reports and performance metrics to the VP of Sales and senior
management.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to sales strategies
Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the sales budget.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources to achieve sales goals.
- Monitor expenditures and optimize the use of sales tools and technologies.
Market Expansion:
- Support initiatives to expand the company's market presence and reach new customer
segments.
- Assist in the planning and execution of sales strategies for new products and services
What our Client is Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; MBA
preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a sales leadership role, preferably in the
supply chain or logistics industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in sales and CRM software, and comfortable with data analysis tools.
- Ability to travel as needed to support sales activities and meet with clients.
