As a Finance Associate, you will be a key member enabling Hive’s financial and operational excellence focusing on managing accounts receivable (A/R) and taxation functions. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely collection of receivables, and compliance with tax regulations in a fast-moving complex insurtech space. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams in growth, customer success, engineering, and medical operations to continuously improve the healthcare experience of Hive’s members and scale our services to existing and new customers. Responsibilities
- Finance Operations
- Manage end-to-end accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Process business transactions, and verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
- Taxation and Compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations
- Assist in tax planning and forecasting to optimize the company's tax position
- Reporting
- Maintain and organize accurate financial records, including invoicing, taxation, claims, and expense management
- Document financial and accounting transactions
- Prepare financial reports
- Analyze and report financial metrics, while communicating actionable insights
- Help manage shareholder communities such as customers, providers, regulators, and investors
- Team Collaboration
- Determine appropriate tools and processes to streamline financial systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in growth, customer success, engineering, and medical operations on responding to evolving customer needs
- Other roles that may be required to support operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent field
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance operations, accounting, or taxation
- Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and working tax regulations in the Philippines
- High attention to detail and excited to learn new skills and tools
- Knowledge of and experience in Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), healthcare, insurance, or financial services industry, is a plus!
