Organization & Role

The Teradyne Hardware Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Hardware Engineer to focus on the development of hardware systems for products within the  division. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Support US Hardware engineering team in PCBA development.

  • Attend product development and critical kick off meetings for initial product launch

  • Create board schematic design based on customer requirements and specifications.

  • Create/submit Commodity Part Requests for parts needed in board schematic design.

  • Create and process ECN's to release and/or modify designs as required.

  • Guide and provide technical assistance to PCB designers on parts placement and/or routing.

  • Perform QA inspection on final designs for completeness and quality.

  • Create PCBA design validation test plans.

  •  Attend product development and critical kick off meetings for initial product launch

  •  Create part number forms, AVL forms, Bom creation forms and BOM change forms

  • Perform design validations on new boards and/or board Respins.

  •  Perform design layout and produce manufacturing documents when needed

  •  Perform QA inspection on final designs for completeness and quality

  •  Travels when needed to North Reading factory to perform final product verification

  •  Create and process ECN's to release and/or modify designs as required

  •  Work closely with assembly shops to resolve any assembly issues prior to or during build

  •  Meet with vendors and suppliers for face to face discussions.

  • Review parts with AVL issues (out of stock, obsolete) and provide resolutions. 

  • Meet face to face with other employees including Hardware/Applications engineers and designers to review projects.

  • Travel when needed to North Reading factory to perform final product verification

     


Basic Qualifications, Education & Skills Required:


  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  • With atleast 5 years experience in PCBA hardware development engineering.

  • Has experience or knowledge in schematic and PCB design tools like Cadence Allegro, Mentor or any other tools.

  • Able to interpret board schematics.

  • Proficient in handling and using laboratory equipment and tools.

  • Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and meet timelines. 

  • Can interface with different level within the organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Must possess a hands-on practical approach to problem solving.

  • Has a high sense of urgency and analytical skills

  • Must be proficient in Windows and all Microsoft Office programs including Visio

  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter is a plus.

  • Experience creating Printed Circuit Board outline drawings is a plus

  • Must be comfortable working with outside vendors and be willing to travel to US to support Teradyne products as necessary
