Johnson & Johnson Global Services is recruiting a strategic and innovative Media and Design Studio Manager, across multiple locations.



As the Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of media and design by overseeing all operational aspects of the function and leading a dynamic team of designers. Together, you will create cutting-edge digital learning solutions that meet business goals and resonate with customer needs. Embracing the latest technologies, including Generative AI, you will harness expertise in Human-Centered Design to drive continuous improvement and elevate the learning experience organization-wide. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead the visual direction and user experience across all channels, managing the end-to-end production of digital learning content, including the Learning Design System. It is ideal for a leader passionate about storytelling, design strategy, and cross-functional collaboration who can inspire and maintain a high-performing creative team.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Creative Leadership & Strategy\: Drive the overall creative vision for the Media and Design Studio, aligning with business objectives and learner needs. Set strategic direction for UI/UX, visual design, illustration, and multimedia production to deliver innovative and engaging learning solutions.

  • Team Leadership & Development\: Lead, mentor, and inspire the visual design team in creating modern digital learning solutions. Establish clear goals and objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and innovation.

  • Coaching & Performance Management\: Implement J&J’s 5 Conversations framework to drive performance, accountability, career growth, and development. Manage performance goals, conduct reviews, and hold team members accountable for results.

  • Capacity & Resource Management\: Regularly assess and optimize team workload, ensuring efficient resource allocation and enhancing the team’s capabilities to deliver high-quality outputs.

  • Agile Project Management\: Champion Scrum and Agile practices to foster collaboration and iterative development. Monitor project outcomes, ensure on-time delivery, and align outputs with KPIs and OKRs.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration\: Build and maintain strategic partnerships across J&J Learning, Global Services Center, GEO, Legal, Compliance, and J&J Technology (JJT) for strategy development, requirements gathering, and problem-solving.

  • Customer-Centric Design Approach\: Champion a customer-focused approach to design, working closely with team members to create learning solutions that are user-friendly, engaging, and aligned with client objectives.

  • Innovation & Technology Integration\: Evaluate and implement new technologies and design tools, such as Generative AI, to enhance team productivity and creativity. Encourage the use of innovative approaches to improve design outcomes and learning experiences.

  • Asset Management & Governance\: Oversee the creation and organization of team assets, including the Learning Design System, onboarding materials, and design templates/guidelines. Ensure adherence to best practices for file naming conventions and storage standards.


Qualifications


Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Media Production, Visual Arts, Interaction Design, or a related field.



Experience and Skills


Required:



  • At least eight (8) years of professional experience in visual design, UI/UX, multimedia production, or a related field in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Minimum of three (3) years in people and team leadership, with proven ability to mentor, inspire, and develop a high-performing design team.

  • Knowledgeable of design and media tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Figma, Sketch, Final Cut Pro, or similar applications.

  • Proficiency in Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design methodologies, championing a user-centric approach to all design projects.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.

  • Proven project and change management skills, proficient in Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Excellent visual, written, and oral communication skills, with strong proficiency in English.

  • Enthusiastic team player committed to fostering a positive work environment.

  • Demonstrates discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.



Preferred:



  • Proficiency in learning management systems, e-learning technologies, authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), and other emerging technologies.

  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and evidence-based instructional design practices.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing diverse global or remote teams effectively.

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and 365 applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, Planner, Power Apps/Automate, CoPilot).

  • Experience using digital technologies and automation solutions, including Generative AI, to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
