The IT Monitoring Specialist is responsible for monitoring IT systems, servers, networks, security, and applications to ensure operational stability and performance. Using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Nagios, Gridshield, Tableau, and the Meraki Dashboard, the specialist will classify alerts, assess their impact, and take appropriate actions such as raising tickets, escalating issues, or discarding alerts per predefined SOPs. This role ensures efficient operations during weekends and mid-week shifts, covering key off-hour schedules.


Requirements:



  • Fluent in English. High Proficiency level (must).

  • Technician in networks or related fields.

  • Hands-on experience with IT monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Nagios, Gridshield, Tableau, and Meraki Dashboard.

  • Knowledge of networking, servers, security principles, and application performance.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and SOP-driven workflows.

  • Strong analytical skills to classify and respond to alerts effectively.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues appropriately.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for shift handovers and stakeholder updates.

  • Teamwork-oriented mindset.

  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, ITIL) are a plus.

  • Experience in a 24/7 IT operations environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Reliability and accountability, especially during off-hour shifts.

  • Schedule flexibility. Able to work on weekends and nightshifts.


Responsibilities:



  • Monitor IT alerts across systems, networks, servers, security, and applications using tools such as Dynatrace, Nagios, Gridshield, Tableau, and Meraki Dashboard.

  • Analyze system performance metrics and identify anomalies.

  • Classify and assess the severity and impact of alerts.

  • Determine appropriate responses: resolve, escalate, or discard alerts per established SOPs.

  • Raise tickets for issues requiring additional work or escalations.

  • Maintain detailed records of alerts and actions taken.

  • Update SOPs and documentation when necessary to reflect new learnings or changes.

  • Generate and share shift-end reports highlighting key incidents and their resolution.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve escalated alerts.

  • Communicate critical incidents to stakeholders promptly and clearly.

  • Proactively recommend improvements to monitoring configurations and alert thresholds.

  • Support in onboarding and testing new tools or updates for enhanced monitoring.
