Shift: Mon - Fri 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM PH Time | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM US Eastern Time
Work setup: Work from home


Core Responsibilities: Keeping the Ledgers Level

  • Collaborate with property and regional team members to ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and completeness for NHA communities and corporate property management company records.
  • Maintain complete books and records for a portfolio of 10-12 NHA properties, including analysis and review of financial information.
  • Manage month-end close processes, including account reconciliations, support schedules, and financial statements.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, including monthly accruals and straight-line rent entries.
  • Report accurately and on time for the assigned AMP portfolio, including budgets and forecasts.
  • Work closely with property managers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness in operations reporting.
  • Implement company-wide accounting and reporting initiatives within property management.
  • Maintain a calendar of reporting deadlines for assigned properties and prepare accurate, timely reports as required.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure accuracy of delinquency reports and communicate with property management regarding significant delinquencies.
  • Monitor cash flow, ensure timely critical payments, and prepare funding reports as needed.
  • Support budget preparation by providing information and analysis to property managers.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of budgets before uploading them into accounting software.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to provide accurate, complete information to property owners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Requirements

What It Takes to Build in This Role

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience in property management accounting, ideally within multifamily or senior housing.
  • 2+ years of management experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency with property management software; experience with Yardi Voyager (preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with onsite property teams (strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
  • Professional-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
