About the Unit: Transport
Transport Unit is primarily responsible for providing trucks based on the requirements of various NV business segments. This department is in collaboration with Procurement team in performing tasks such as 3PL Sourcing, Contracting, Tender Exercises and Vendor Management. Aside from dealing with 3PL's, Transport is responsible with the repair and maintenance of company owned units in coordination with users from business segments.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Transport Officer shall be in charge of supervising driverβs performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in top working order. He shall also manage databases that detail transport activities, employee schedules and personnel records.
Main Duties
- Vehicle booking to designated vendors based on the approved requests of each department
- Ensures only approved vehicle requests are booked and deployed
- Ensures ordered/booked vehicles arrive on time at the requesting party/origin hub
- Ensures correctness of booked/deployed vehicle vs actual vehicle type requested
- Work closely with the transport billing team in assisting on the reverse billing data or fulfilled trip validation
- Communication between the 3pl partners and end-users/requestors
- Handle issues and operational challenges relating to 3pl and proper reporting
- Leads the compliance in the timely and correct updating of the truck logs from the transport side up to the end-user's acknowledgement
- Timely and proper escalation of challenges which he/she sees deemed beyond his/her capacity as a transport coordinator
- Creation of MMDA accounts for new inhouse/3PL drivers.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Vocational Diploma/Short Course Certificate related to Transport or Distribution Management
- At least 2 years' relevant experience, from Freight Forwarding and 3PL industry.Β
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in booking 3PL and answering query of delivery.
