Job Description

The Data Architect is responsible for the overall design and the approach to
designing both the logical and the physical data architecture of the data
warehouse and data lake. The data architect should have a broad
understanding of data warehousing, ETL and Hadoop, and is responsible for
providing technical leadership to the implementation teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this position will include but will not be limited to the
following:
• Responsible for designing the logical data models.
• Responsible for creating the physical data models.
• Provides the optimization strategy for the existing data models.
• Reviews the deliverables to ensure completeness and
correctness against the business requirement.
• Ensures that the physical design meets the standards set by the
Data Architecture team.
• Works with other Data Architects in developing the data solutions.
• Guides and provides inputs to the Solution Architects on the
implementation of different BI solutions.
• Builds source system knowledge that can help determine the best
source for a particular information
• Provides source to target mapping for reports, extractions, and
other analytical requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
A. Work Experience
• 6+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering or reporting business intelligence or any related work.
• Must have experience in designing and/or developing a mid - large
scale data warehouse or data lake.
• Experience in implementing various relational or NoSQL databases or
hadoop technologies. (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, Hive,
Pig, Impala, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase)
• Experienced on either Reporting or ETL is required
• Should be knowledgeable on data warehousing implementation using
MPP databases.
• Should be knowledgeable on both 3NF and Star Schema model
implementation
• Should be knowledgeable on various Hadoop implementation
strategies
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Should possess the ability to work independently with minimal
supervision or with a team depending on the scenario.
• Knowledge on SDLC with emphasis on design phase or any other
Agile methodologies
• Telecommunications industry knowledge and experience is preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably Information Technology or Computer
Science.
