Job Description

The Head of Data Center Security will be responsible for developing and overseeing the physical security strategy and implementation at our data center facilities. This role will play a critical role in safeguarding our infrastructure and ensuring the safety of our clients' valuable assets.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Policy Development: - Develop and implement comprehensive physical security policies, procedures, and standards tailored to the unique needs of a hyperscaler collocation environment.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: - Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigating potential security threats.
  • Access Control and Surveillance: - Oversee the design and management of access control systems, CCTV, and other surveillance technologies to ensure the integrity of our facilities.
  • Incident Response and Emergency Management: - Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to effectively handle security incidents and emergencies.
  • Security Personnel Management: - Manage on-site security personnel, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA) related to physical security.
  • Vendor and Contractor Oversight: - Establish and maintain relationships with security vendors and contractors, ensuring they meet our stringent security requirements.
  • Perimeter Security: - Oversee the design and maintenance of physical barriers, access points, and other perimeter security measures.
  • Environmental Monitoring: - Implement and manage systems for monitoring environmental conditions to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
  • Training and Awareness: - Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff and contractors on physical security best practices.
  • Budget Management: - Develop and manage the physical security budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support security initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in security management is a plus.
  • More than 5 yrs of experience in a leadership role within physical security, preferably in a hyper-scaler collocation or critical infrastructure environment. - In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to physical security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
