Job Overview
This role is responsible for all aspects of financial management, not limited to corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as improvement and development of internal control policies and procedures, maintaining and developing accounting principles and practices to ensure accurate and timely financial reports. Duties also include managing a team with all work that is properly allocated and completed timely to achieve the company’s established goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s book of accounts and preparation of reporting requirements which includes but not limited to financial reports in compliance with accounting standards, taxation and statutory regulations.
- Provides proactive advice to immediate superior on setting policies and procedures through study of best industry practices and procedures.
- Directs, oversees or manages the development, modification, review and implementation of accounting systems, reporting methods and controls, policies and procedures to achieve optimum business benefits.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Handles fixed asset and inventory management; monitoring and control by conducting periodic physical count of fixed assets and inventory.
- Ensure all financial information is updated timely and accurately, meeting all deadlines.
- Provide accurate updates on all outstanding documents and reports to management on a monthly basis or as otherwise required by the management.
- Provide support on internal and external audit requirements such as access to financial information and provision of reports.
- Preparing and presenting pricing analysis for potential impact on profitability.
- Collaborating with sales and other departments on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies and translating complex data into actionable strategies and techniques to drive sales and enhance marketing efforts.
- Primary contact to handle day-to-day operational questions, provide status updates, and escalate any concerns from internal and external customers.
- Manage the team; recruit, train, and evaluate as necessary; develop staff through formal and informal coaching, mentoring, appropriate assignments, and periodic performance reviews. Define and measure critical metrics and KPIs that accurately reflect operational and financial performance of the team. Motivate staff to excel at what they do, to continue learning, and to support the company’s mission, vision, values, and culture.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills with the team to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance on deliverables.
- Partner closely with other cross functional teams to ensure accomplishment of business objectives and consistent customer success. Build and maintain strong relationships within and across departments and with internal and external stakeholders.
- Additional ad hoc responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with high GPA
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of 3 years experience handling Accounting, Audit, Tax and Finance activities in Supervisory or
- Assistant Manager level
- Preferably with experience using Netsuite or any Oracle software
- Solid knowledge in using MS Office preferably Excel or Google sheet
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Must possess strong systems skills; effective oral and written communication skills; and a solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Ability to think strategically and implement ideas/initiatives tactically with high attention to details and accuracy
