Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Senior UK Tax Compliance with expertise in UK tax and VAT compliance to join our team.

Work set up: 1-2x per month onsite

Shift:1pm-10pm MNL time (EU shift)

Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on changes in UK laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on basic UK VAT and tax compliance topics for team members at all levels.
  • Share knowledge in cross-border and EU VAT treatments, rules, and regulations in relation to UK VAT compliance.
  • Conduct training to enhance team members' basic knowledge and skills in compliance practices.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to ensure team members understand and adhere to UK standard regulatory requirements.
  • Assess client needs and provide tailored solutions and recommendations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Deliver high-quality advice and support to clients through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct VAT reviews for submission of the team to the HMRC and assessments to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Review of UK payroll process and ensuring that journal entries are correct and based on UK payroll rules and regulations.
  • Prepare annual accounts, review reports, tax returns (CT600, etc.), and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Manage client deadlines and work relationships.

Qualifications

  • ACCA or Certified Public Accountant (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience in UK compliance roles, preferred but not required in handling TOMS VAT, postponed VAT accounting, and other VAT complexities.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, Anti-money laundering, and tax compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in cross-border and EU VAT treatments, rules, and regulations in relation to UK VAT compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in UK Payroll preparations and review of transactions and journal entries, including UK payroll rules and regulations.
  • Excellent training and coaching skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex compliance issues.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in accounting, finance, or audit-related work.

The typical day for a Senior UK Tax Compliance may involve staying updated on compliance regulations, conducting training and coaching sessions, assessing client needs, providing high-quality advice, reviewing VAT and payroll processes, and managing client relationships.
