Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the client in creating accurate and timely financial records and reports
Responsibilities
- Assist in corporate accounting including but not limited to AP, AR, accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid, cash planning, lease accounting, and the closing process
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries for monthly bank statement activity
- Prepares and records asset, liability, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information on a monthly basis
- Review and prepare journal entries for corporate expense reports and credit card spend
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries for prepaid expense amortization
- Performs account analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including cash
- Prepares and post monthly consolidating entries multiple times per month
- Collaborates with client management to ensure a complete and accurate month-end close
- Assists with drafting and tie out of annual financial reporting and other ad hoc reporting
- Analyzes financial statements for discrepancies
- Supports statutory audits
- Maintain accurate process and procedures for all reports and tasks.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in accounting or related discipline required
- 2-3 years of public or private accounting experience with or withoutΒ CPA license
- Advanced knowledge of debits/credits and financial statements
- Experience with sophisticated accounting systems (i.e., SAP, Oracle, etc.) is preferred
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical problem solving and attention to detail
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and various Microsoft Office applications
- Organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
- Strong interpersonal skills allowing for ability to effectively collaborate within a team setting
