Job Description

The management of projects, typically (but not exclusively) involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. The adoption and adaptation of project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a standard approach for project management
  • Start up and initiate project and manage stakeholder engagement
  • Develop & maintain project plan, manage project resources/work packages
  • Monitor & control projects and manage project quality & risks
  • Close a project or iteration
  • Develop detailed resource support/technical/operational specs & manuals
  • Identify & develop required processes & procedures for resources
  • Develop service & operational agreements for resources
  • Gain service & operational agreements approval for resources
  • Produce supporting documentation & training packages for resources
  • Manage resource process & procedure implementation
  • Manage resource operational staff training
  • Develop resource Supplier/Partner Operational support
  • Manage resource acceptance testing
  • Co-ordinate resource capability delivery and ensure capability quality
  • Configure, implement, activate resources

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of work experience as Project Manager
  • Solid in project / program management methodologies and tools
  • Proven track-record of executing large scale projects/programs
  • Solid understanding of technologies to manage dependencies
  • Ideally managed larger organizational / technology transformation projects
  • Experience in agile project management and track record of mentoring and coaching employees on their agile journey
  • Understanding of interfaces and E2E requirements to manage and leverage Tooling, Automation, Analytics

Competencies - Core

  • Business Risk Management: Carries out risk assessment within a defined functional or technical area of business. Uses consistent processes for identifying potential risk events, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the business. Refers to domain experts for guidance on specialized areas of risk, such as architecture and environment. Co-ordinates the development of countermeasures and contingency plans.
  • Methods & Tools: Provides support on the use of existing method and tools. Configures methods and tools within a known context. Creates and updates the documentation of methods and tools.
  • Project Management: Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines). Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Ensures Quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure. Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off. Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Requirements Definition & Management: Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritization activities for small-scale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives. Follows agreed standards, applying appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed requirements. Provides constructive challenge to stakeholders as required. Prioritizes requirements and documents traceability to source. Reviews requirements for errors and omissions. Provides input to the requirements base-line. Investigates, manages and applies authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.

  • Good knowledge working with programs that support agile way of working, e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Tosca
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS-Tool set
  • Excellent presentation skills including leading stand-up and backlog discussions with teams
  • Scrum certification, e.g. SCRUM Master
