Group Finance Manager


We are looking for a Group Finance Manager, with responsibility for the group’s monthly reporting cycle to the Board and the half and year-end NASDAQ listed group financial statements under IFRS. You will report directly into the group finance director and be responsible for two direct reports in the corporate finance team and liaison with the finance teams in Australia and the Netherlands.


This is a key role in a dynamic, fast paced business, with abundant responsibility and excellent scope for career growth. We are looking for someone with strong experience in the key attributes of the role, able to confidently deliver the key outputs, but also with the ambition, adaptability and intelligence to learn new skills quickly, be pro-active in resolving issues and lead improvements to group accounting processes.


Your duties and responsibilities:



  • Timely delivery of listed PLC quality consolidated management accounts, reflecting all key accounting and operational issues.

  • Lead group accounting activities, maintaining accurate consolidation, applying IFRS rigorously.

  • Lead preparation of Half Year and Annual Group Financial Statements under IFRS to NASDAQ requirements.

  • Manage and control expenditures across all corporate overhead departments.

  • Lead and control head office transactional accounting.

  • Lead UK, US region tax planning, compliance.


Qualifications:



  • Chartered accountant, (e.g. ACA qualification) with excellent technical accounting skills and current knowledge of IFRS within international groups.

  • Minimum 7 years post qualification experience within a group reporting function, ideally mid-sized industrial, energy or engineering corporate.

  • Experience of budgets, reforecasts, CF forecasting in a corporate environment.

  • Able to lead resolution of complex accounting issues across the group, e.g. M&A, impairments, IFRS 15, 16.

  • In depth experience of complex group consolidations

General Ledger Accountant


Pleco Inc. is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join the Finance team in providing close support with a wide range of accounting responsibilities for EV entities in Netherlands, UK, Australia. The role will be based in Manila and you will be a key role that will provide critical management and financial accounting, operational accounting support and financial compliance activities of the client and will be reporting to the EV Financial Controller.


Your duties and responsibilities:



  • Lead preparation of all purchase and sales ledger accounting for EV entities at month-end, delivering reconciled TB's by working day 3.

  • Ensure timely cut-off and reconciliation of subledgers.

  • Ensure all purchase and sales journals, time charging, accruals, allocations etc are accurately posted and reconciliations completed.

  • Ensure all purchase and sales journals, time charging, accruals, allocations etc are accurately and promptly posted at month-end. Maintain up to date and resolved reconciliations ready for review.

  • Support EV financial controller in preparing management accounts.

  • Implement automation and other systems improvements to accounting processes.

  • Provide accounting assistance to operational financial management activities

  • Review and oversee accounts payable and credit card, cash accounting processes.

  • Accounting for capital expenditures.

  • Budgets and reforecasts.

  • Documentation of internal controls and procedures

  • Lead EV entities year-end accounting activities:

  • Prepare local financial statements for subsidiary entities under IFRS.

  • Prepare financial information for group year-end, half year reporting requirements.

  • Provide auditors with accurate reconciliations and ensure accounting issues resolved.

  • Prepare annual tax filings.

  • Maintain financial compliance for EV entities:

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly VAT returns.

  • Prepare financial reports as required by grant funding bodies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting. Excellent academics.

  • CPA or equivalent qualification.

  • Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • 5+ years’ experience of financial accounting and management accounting.

  • Experience of accounting in an operational environment: preferably manufacturing or assembly.

  • Experience of working in complex international organisations.

  • Excellent analytical skills: highly proficient in Excel.

  • Strong accounting systems knowledge: Netsuite an advantage.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office suite, video conferencing.

  • Strong communication skills: able to work well with a remote team in several continents.

  • Excellent English communication skills.
