Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Team and Head of Maintenance in developing maintenance programs, systems, and work methods that deliver competent and economic maintenance;
- Coordinate the delivery of maintenance with other team members, such that work is programmed in conjunction with the other trades disciplines to maximize the use of resources and of plant outages;
- Manage and perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on all mechanical plant, including gates, hydraulic systems, cranes and diesels to a high standard that maximizes plant performance and avoids re-work;
- Coordinate mechanical equipment installation activities with Operations and Maintenance personnel and vendor/manufacturer representatives, and interfaces with consultants and contractors on technical and engineering issues;
- Participate in the Plant Maintenance Training and Skill Certification Program to ensure that skills are maintained or enhanced;
- Monitor the performance of mechanical plant and equipment to identify degrading performance or malfunction, and implements timely and effective remedial action;
- Perform diagnostic analysis of equipment failure or malfunction, to effect timely and permanent repairs and return to service. Completes comprehensive failure analysis reports that fully detail the issues and solutions;
- Installs all types of mechanical plant and equipment, when required, to high standards and to specification. Follows and performs assigned tasks as stipulated in the job order and in accordance with the schedules. Accomplishes these tasks safely, with efficient resource utilization, and with minimal or little supervision;
- Operate heavy equipment such as but not limited to overhead cranes (gantry, monorail, jib and truck-mounted) and forklift as required on the job and ensure the validity of national certification on these competencies;
- Handle, label and monitor hazardous material/waste as required, complying with environmental and safety regulations. Prepares daily accomplishment reports and gives feedback to the maintenance head on the progress or highlights of the activities or tasks assigned;
- Actively participates in and supports the team operation to promote good employee relations, high performance, and amicable resolution of grievances and disputes within the team’s and company’s established practices and procedures
Qualifications:
- Registered Mechanical Engineer
- At least 3 years relevant working experience
