Responsibilities






  • Conducting legal research to gather relevant information, statutes, regulations, and case law that may be pertinent to a case or legal issue.
  • Assisting in the preparation, drafting, and review of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and other legal correspondence.
  • Organizing and managing case files, maintaining legal databases, and ensuring that all documents are filed and organized properly.
  • Interacting with clients, answering inquiries, and providing updates on case progress. However, legal assistants typically cannot provide legal advice independently.
  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts, administrative agencies, and other entities.
  • Managing attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Providing general support to attorneys, such as preparing exhibits, conducting legal due diligence, and coordinating depositions or other legal proceedings.
  • Proficiency in using legal research databases, case management software, and other tools commonly used in legal practice.
  • Performing administrative duties, such as handling incoming calls, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Adhering to strict confidentiality standards, as legal assistants often have access to sensitive information.
  • Staying informed about changes in laws, regulations, and legal procedures through continuing education and professional development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.








Qualifications






  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional working experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset and natural ability to build relationships with clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and individuals.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
